A weekend at Cabana Show in New York

Cabana Show’s first year in New York City

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of being a part of Cabana Show’s first year in New York City. Cabana Show is a re-energized format trade show that allows retailers and buyers to do business in a relaxed and creative atmosphere and at the same time reconnect and relax with industry friends. The show environment is inspired by the best beach resorts around the world from Tulum, to Cote de’Azur, to Ibiza. Normally set in Miami, Florida, this was the first year that Cabana has come to New York and they did an incredible job!

The BL setup

Our team set up one of our most elaborate pop-up bars yet, surrounded by the tropical chic decor, animal hide rugs and fiddle leaves and palms that were transported from Florida to New York just before the storms. We fired up two La Marzocco machines, stacked the bar with gluten-free Husk Bakeshop treats including our famous Aussie Lamington, Beauty Balls and Banana Bread to name a few. Guests also enjoyed our cold-pressed juices and with our talented baristas on the tools pumping out premium coffees and Wellness Lattes, the stellar service, and latte art won over Cabana Show vendors and buyers alike. We had fun personalized BL bags on display created by our friends at Poolside Bags which topped off the tropical vibe perfectly.

It was inspiring to spend time alongside other young and creative brands and also nice to see such a strong Australian contingent throughout the show. Among our countrymen, brands like Matteau, Dion Lee, She Made Me, FellaSunday Somewhere and Nicholas flew the flag proudly next to all of the international names.

It was a fantastic atmosphere at the event and also at the private dinner party held afterward at Public Hotel. Everyone was very supportive and we made some great new friends over the course of the weekend. Our baristas and BL staff were met with rave reviews and we look forward to getting involved again in 2018!
