What is the J1 Visa?

The Exchange Visitor (J-1) non-immigrant visa category is for individuals approved to participate in work and-study-based exchange visitor programs. To qualify, you must be a post-secondary student or recent graduate – i.e. you must have completed at least one year of a bachelor’s degree program or other course which will lead to an issuance of a degree.
