Bluestone Lane’s Café in the Capital

After four years, Bluestone Lane has ventured south and we are thrilled to introduce our signature Aussie-style coffee and premium café fare to the nation’s capital!  Our first location in Washington DC is situated on the corner of 23rd and L St, sharing a home with the West End Library.

The design

This unique 2,200 square foot café is our largest yet! The beautiful building designed by award-winning architect, Enrique Norton, features expansive windows that span from floor to ceiling, allowing natural light to flood the space. The interior decor is soft and earthy, creating juxtaposition against the harsher elements of the space. The concrete flooring, exposed ceiling and glass and steel curtain walls are contrasted with a tapestry of soft mint green and neutral timber tones, ornamented with classy brass elements. The supporting concrete columns resemble branches of oak trees, creating a forest-like oasis highlighted by leafy deep green watercolor wallpaper and sea foam tiles by Mercury Mosaics.

The eloquent and considered interior design allows seating for approximately 50 people, where you have the choice to nestle into the cushion covered benches or enjoy a sun-drenched table by the windows. In the warmer months, the spacious outdoor zone will transform into alfresco dining for up to 40 people, offering locals a place to enjoy a relaxing break in the sunshine with friends, or solo with a book in hand.

Our West End location is a full service, sit down café, serving all of your Bluestone Lane favorites. Join us for an enhanced dining experience and enjoy our premium coffee, wellness drinks, BL signature cold-pressed juices and organic teas. The food offering at this café includes delicious healthy dishes such as our famous #AvoSmash, signature Breakfast Bowl and Eggs Your Way, as well as a range of grab and go delights and Husk Bakeshop gluten-free pastries.
