The New York Coffee Festival 2017

This year’s New York Coffee Festival has just come and gone! The annual gathering showcases the best and brightest of the New York and global coffee scene.

Our team did an incredible job creating a cafe-inspired setting at the BL coffee stall, stocking shelves with retail coffee bags, setting up some blue cafe tables and chairs all enclosed by a giant print of a breakfast scene shot by talented photographer, Candy Kennedy.

Our barista team served up hundreds of coffees every day with a line of eager customers, and we also fielded loads of interest in our wholesale and retail programs, too! The BL camp was decorated with fairy lights and the unmistakable lush BL greenery. We also had a #smashbar in the food vendors area where the avocado smashes flew out the door – selling out on both days.

Highlights of the weekend included watching our coffee director, Jai, hold a freestyle latte art presentation. He showed his many fans and followers the art of pouring the perfect swan and rosetta. The second day was closed out with our 3rd annual “Bluestone Lane Takeover” latte art throwdown where 16 of NYC’s most skilled latte artist’s were judged by a panel of celebrity baristas including the man, the myth, the legend… Dritan Alsela. With so many roasters and cafes doing such great work, we felt proud to fly the BL flag, and we can’t wait to bring our team and lifestyle back to the New York Coffee Festival in 2018.
